To preserve the integrity of these boards this thread is to act as a guide for other Dark Templars. With so much information out there it is sometimes hard to find what is needed. As a result this thread will not only provide the essential information, but will also link to other useful threads that have not yet been stickied or are too specific to warrant their own sticky.

While this thread is meant to be unbiased you will note included boxes with certain things marked [Author Opinion]. These will include mine or other peoples opinions about high profile abilities.

Version 0.8
Untalented Abilities are now all updated. The rest is being tested, and should hopefully be up by Friday the 13th. I just want to get things complete rather than add incomplete details. Expect most of it to happen this weekend, but smaller updates will come in all of next week most likely.

Omitted From Guide: This is not a newbie guide and as such general island abilities will not be included at this time.

Format: I have decided to format this resource to be useful to all level ranges, but per above dedicated generally to people heading towards max level. As such for each ability I will include level learned, a description, and when upgrades are learned. After that I will include more information for top end abilities that are still useful at 80. If I were to include complete information for all abilities in the line I feel the document would grow too large, but I may include it in a separate section after a point.

Version: .7 - Getting a really good list going. Some little things are missing here and there on the updated items, but it will all come in time. Still to do are talented abilities.

Notes: Talented this is one of our best dps abilities. So much a so that it is worth using Mystical Bane III in certain situations.

Damage (Sta/Combo) = 2.49 / 468.33
Notes: I feel like given the description there should be more of an effect. I see animations over my foes head, but they get no debuff that I can see. I do not feel like this is working as intended.

Unhallowed Blight

Notes: Near useless. Increase doesn't even compare to blood for aid. Duration is the only (Save Soul for our Feast, which is understandable as it is a group buff) we have that is less then the refresh (in fact much less), and with the damage range I cannot imagine this ability will not get a buff at some point.

Aura's
Description: You can only have on aura up at a time. The aura effect gives a benefit to your entire party. They last one hour.

Aura of Dread Fury
Proc Rate: 6-8%
Effect: 47 Damage to target

Aura of Infusion
Proc Rate: 25%
Effect: 31 health + 15 health for 5 ticks or 106 health.

Covenants
Description: You can only have on covenant up at a time. The covenant effect gives a benefit only to you. They last 4 hours
Proc Rate: 6-8%
Duration: 8 seconds except Pestilence, which is instant damage


Covenant of Death
Description: 1.9% Lifetap

Covenant of Invulnerability
Description: Absorbs 25 damage or 25% of the attack (whichever is lower) as mana damage

Covenant of Pestilence
Description: 110 AE damage proc

Covenant of Vengeance
Description: +24.8 Unholy Damage (melee)

Covenant of War
Description: 7 damage/second to self. 8 point damage shield. 2% more dps.

Drain Life
Duration: Long 1 hour buff
Effect: +6.4% lifetap

Martyrdom

Cast time: 1.5 seconds
Recast Time: 8 seconds
Effect: 64 Damage healed every second for a total of 512 life
Note: Effects with health costs do 1.5x damage in frenzy stance, and likewise with other damage multipliers to personal damage.


Rite of Blood
Health Cost: 5.04% Health Cost
Recast: 8 seconds
Effect: 10% stamina returned - 3 % first tick and 7% for seven ticks
Note: Effects with health costs do 1.5x damage in frenzy stance, and likewise with other damage multipliers to personal damage.

Sadism
Description: Every time a team mate is struck in combat you have a chance at gaining a Sadism counter. As it grows up to a max of ten you gain additional abilities and powers.
Effect: Sadism increases Magical Lifetap by 100%, lifetap/damage/magical damage by 1% for each stack of Sadism up to ten. At ten stacks Sadism will pulse AoE damage every 2 seconds. This damage is roughly 80 on mobs much lower then yourself.
Note: This ability has a bug where if sadism ten refreshes itself the AoE timer will also refresh causing no AoE damage to proc ever.

Known Bugs

1. Charge sometimes bounces you away from your target. This in addition can mess up your UI for future ability use.

2. Stance Lock up - Changing stances can sometimes completely lock up your UI preventing you from doing anything. Your only option is to force quit and restart.

3. Goad and Goad Mob - Do not work as stated. In fact they do not seem to do much at all. In addition known to cause locks ups.

4. Martydom doesn't scale from rank 4 to rank 5 except for a lower health cost.

5. Leech Life V has a higher stamina cost then Leech Life VI.

Top 10 list of desired changes

1. Remove cast times from our spells.

2. Have health costs not be effected by stance.

3. Fix feat trees to allow for competent builds without need for throw away talents. In particularly the desecration tree leaves a lot to be desired from spec choice.

4. Increase effect and duration of martyrdom, blood pact, and rite of blood.

5. Add a charge and/or stun effect to dark burden for PvP use.

6. Add more uses for mana especially for a dps class.

7. Make Talismans do more for a Dark Templar. As it stands boosting covenants isn't really all that hot compared to a shield. Talisman+1H should be good enough that people don't complain for 2H weapons.

8. Fix charge to not bounce off the intended target.

9. Change touch of death to a buff that procs rather then a one use effect that must be reapplied.

10. Increase debuff from unhallowed blight and increase duration
